06.02.2025 | Hamburg – education & coffee: Strategic Pricing – Should you simplify your pricing to finally get a handle on complexity?

Many companies are now asking themselves whether the internal pricing processes have become so complex that it would be advisable to fundamentally simplify the discount structures, the numerous net prices stored in the system and the customer-specific conditions.

This is the topic of Professor Riekhof’s lecture on February 6, 2024, who has been dealing with the topic of strategic and operational pricing for many years and has conducted numerous empirical studies on this. There will be surprising answers to the complexity of pricing at one point or another. And the handling of price reductions – especially in a sales crisis – will also be highlighted by the pricing expert.

03.04.2024 | Bremen – What comes after Inflation Pricing? On the skillful handling of price reductions.

After the high and very high price increases, triggered by the consequences of the Corona pandemic, Ukraine war with supply chain problems and inflation, many companies are confronted with massive demands for price reductions. How should companies react or act here?

Trade and manufacturers are currently in tough disputes over whether prices must fall again in 2024 or whether there are justifications for further price increases. This is also the topic of the lecture by Prof. Dr. Hans-Christian Riekhof at the Bremen Chamber of Commerce on 06.04.2024.

In the negotiations, a clear pricing strategy, but also a good negotiation strategy, is important. Is your sales team prepared for this? Do you need to spend more energy on strategic pricing? Pricing expert Riekhof (Unicconsult Strategy Development) explains the backgrounds and strategies in his practical lecture and gives helpful tips and suggestions. At the same time, he presents the latest pricing study (Pricing Process in Business Practice – Riehof/Breustedt 2023), which specifically addresses the topic of Inflation Pricing.

The Bremen Chamber of Commerce and Prof. Dr. Riekhof cordially invite you to this free lecture.

Topic/Speaker:
Under the title “Value creation through intelligent pricing strategies”, the question is: which pricing strategy is right for my company? The simplest way to increase a company’s return is to raise prices. However, the market may react very sensitively to this. In the worst case, it can lead to customer losses. Using price as a strategic lever for more value creation therefore requires a long-term concept. What are the components of a long-term pricing strategy? How do I check the pricing processes? How do I design the price communication to the outside? Is there effective price controlling?

These and other questions will be addressed by Prof. Dr. Hans-Christian Riekhof. Since 2005, Professor Riekhof has been intensively dealing with questions of strategic and operational pricing in the form of projects and studies.

03.04.2023 │ Lübeck – Strategic Pricing: Untapped Opportunities for Profit Increase

Empirical studies clearly show: the development and implementation of pricing strategies is often neglected in many companies. As a result, there is a certain uncertainty about enforcing higher prices with customers.

Companies often make it too easy for themselves when they simply pass on rising costs to customers without checking the value they actually create with their products that justifies higher prices. Therefore, value creation potentials can be realized with a targeted and intelligent pricing.

The speaker is pricing expert Professor Hans-Christian Riekhof. In his lecture, he uses practical examples to show how to discover these price potentials with pragmatic tools, how to develop a pricing strategy and how to tap into these profit potentials.

25.04.2019│ Hamburg – The digital trends of the next 30 years

The digitization of our work as well as our private lives causes a lot of discomfort to many people. This is understandable because digitization is initially complex and abstract. Prof. Dr. Hans-Christian Riekhof examines in his lecture titled “The digital trends of the next 30 years: Why we should be less afraid of the digitization of our lives”, how we can give digitization a meaningful framework, how we can use it sensibly and integrate it into our everyday life.

Many people also feel discomfort because the rate of change is very high. Therefore, it is all the more important to recognize and understand the underlying trends. What is familiar to us evokes fewer negative reactions. Prof. Riekhof shows which basic patterns of digitization we will encounter in the coming decades and how we can find a way to give digitization a meaningful framework.

Prof. Dr. Hans-Christian Riekhof, International Marketing, PFH Göttingen 2017

Content Marketing means inventing or discovering exciting stories for a brand or a company, staging and preparing them and ensuring their distribution, especially also in the media. What is behind the underlying idea of communicating without selling?

A very small part of companies have so far developed a content marketing strategy or use a corresponding concept paper. Content Marketing is not so new at its core. Are the potentials already exhausted? What goals are pursued with it? What expectations are associated with it? The present study report provides insight into the success factors.
