Book Tip No. 27 (2018): Rolf Dobelli: The Art of Good Life.
Munich 2017
There are many life advisors. Some are written in such a way that you put them down extremely quickly. It’s different with Rolf Dobelli’s new book: very entertaining, but also very knowledgeable. You may have already read some of it in one of his Handelsblatt columns, but the appeal of the book is to have all of this in bound form. Dobelli describes the small and large weaknesses of human nature, and he provides (many initially surprising) insights from psychology that help us cope with everyday life as well as the big questions of life and meaning.
An important message from the author: read more (carefully selected) books and consume less social media. He’s right. Another message: read good books twice. He’s right there too. And his new book is one of them.
