“When you have no idea about something, you first hire someone with a corresponding title. And often the title is more of an indication of what you will not find in the company. If there is a Chief Happiness Officer, you can assume that the work itself is not really designed to make you really happy. If there is a Chief Evangelist, there is probably little enlightenment in the board. And where there is a Chief Disruption Officer on board, it is clear that you are safe from disruptions. Either such people take on tasks that are so boring that you want to compensate them with a good sounding title. Or they don’t do much because they don’t have much in their hands besides a title.”
