Book Tip No. 12 (2015): The Art of Clear Thinking

Munich 2011.

If “The Black Swan” by Nicolas Taleb is too complex and “Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahnemann is too extensive, the booklet by Rolf Dobelli is recommended. He presents us in an entertaining and illustrative way 52 thinking errors that we consciously or unconsciously face in everyday life. They have been uncovered in recent decades mainly by (social) psychological research, and we do well to check, especially in personal decisions of greater scope, whether we may once again fall for the Overconfidence Effect, the Confirmation Bias or the Groupthink Phenomenon.
