Thomas Straubhaar on the societal consequences of digitization: human work will increasingly be replaced by robots on the one hand, and by artificial intelligence on the other.
“However, this suggests that while digitization may make a society richer overall. But since the increase in wealth is more likely to be due to data rather than goods, capital rather than labor, machines rather than humans, and artificial rather than human intelligence, it is expected that polarization will increase in the digital age. Thus, distribution issues are likely to become increasingly important than efficiency gains in the future.
