Companies must drive modernization, demands Michael Hüther:
“Climate change as well as fears of globalization and digitalization are politically pushing in the same direction: more state activity, more comprehensive regulation and less individual freedom. This goes so far that, with a view to higher, collectively anchored goals, even the principle of property protection is relativized and the democratic order is questioned. The foundations of the industry-based and export-strong German economy are fundamentally questioned, our prosperity is openly put up for discussion. The moral altitude, which is served with the best of intentions, but ignores the lowlands of practical implementation, is sufficient for justification.”
