Kik-CEO Patrick Zahn: The state must contribute for better net salaries

“As a company, we do not refuse a wage debate. But we cannot be held solely responsible for the difficult situation with real incomes. We need a responsibility partnership between companies and politics for more net. If the state makes its contribution and finally abolishes or at least significantly reduces the cold progression in tax law and does not only catch it outside the tax law system through subsidized countermeasures (such as the inflation adjustment law), then – but only then – wage increases on the part of companies have a real effect for households in Germany.”

– Patrick Zahn, CEO of the clothing company Kik, in “Less taxes for fair net salaries – wage increases of companies alone do not solve the problem of growing inequality in Germany. For this, companies and the state must work together.”, guest comment in Handelsblatt, 9., 10., 11. June 2023, page 20, No. 109
