Architect Christoph Mäckler: It cannot be that everyone does what they want
“Every architect, every person wants to realize themselves, but it’s about not only working for oneself, but for the community. It cannot be that each of us does what they want. And we architects certainly not. We have to classify ourselves and design urban space in such a way that the building does not oppose the existing, as modernity liked it, but solidifies the existing in its character, its materials and its beauty.”
