Here is a suggestion that is not likely to be considered at the Paris Climate Summit: “In fact, the most efficient way to increase climate protection would be for the West to support India and other emerging countries with money and technology to quickly move away from coal-fired power generation. But within the Paris Climate Agreement, such considerations play hardly any role. Instead, each signatory state is to achieve climate neutrality for itself – no matter how costly it is to avoid the last few percent of emissions in an already largely climate-neutral economy.
